The University of Allahabad is a public central university located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The University is ranked 68 in India by Top Universities in India Ranking.

It is the fourth oldest modern university in India.

On 24 June 2005 its Central University status was restored through the University Allahabad Act 2005 of the Parliament of India
