As you want to get the details of process to join CID and CBI so here it is for you;

I want to tell you that firstly candidates will have to apply for the exam of Indian Police Service

Here for your reference I am giving you the details of exam of Indian Police Service:

Eligib
Nationality:

A candidate must be either :—
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit:
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed 30 years

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have passed graduation from any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Number of Attempts:
General: 4
OBC: 7
SC and ST: No Limit

As you want to get Process to join Central Bureau of Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department so yes you can join through SSC CGL exam.

Here are the details of both exams:

Eligibility:

Nationality:

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit:
Minimum age is 20 years.
Maximum age is 27 years.

Qualification:
Candidate must be graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for both exams.

Selection Process:
It is contain two stages:

In first stage written test:

1) General question
200marks

2) English
200 marks

In second stage you have to face an interview which is contain 100 marks.

Part I - Written Examination carrying: 400 marks
General Test
General Intelligence and Reasoning
General Awareness
Numerical Ability

Part II - Personality Test (Interview): 100 marks.
English Language
Language Comprehension
Communication / Writing
Ability Test
