What is the procedure to Join Indian Army after MBBS as Doctor???

Armed Forces Medical Services is amongst one of the best options available to a medical graduate in our country.

50% of the graduates passing out from the Armed Forces Medical College Pune are taken directly into Permanent Commission and the rest are offered Short Service Commission.

Short Service Commission

Upper Age Limit- 45 Years
Eligible candidates are called for interview to assess their merit for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army Medical Corps

Permanent Commission

SSC officers can appear in departmental interviews for grant of Permanent Commision after completion of two years SSC service.

Educational qualification & Age are:

Must have completed MBBS (Max. 30 years)
Post Graduate Diploma (Max. 31 years)
Post Graduate MD/MS (Max. 35 years)

Eligibility Criteria
-Must posses a medical qualification of an Indian University or a foreign medical qualification recognised by the Medical Council of India.
-Must also be registered with any of the state councils or equivalent registering authority.

As you say that you have completed your MBBS and want to join Indian army. You are eligible for Join Army after MBBS.

You can join Indian army as doctor in two ways;-

The one way is By Short Service Commission:
