The University Polytechnic was established in 2001, as a joint venture of the Department of Welfare, Government of Jharkhand and Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, with an objective to impart quality education to the youths of Jharkhand in various engineering disciplines at the Diploma level.

2. Must have passed Metric or equivalent in 2013/2014/2015

3. Must have an aggregate of

a) 50% or above in Science, Mathematics & English (for ST and SC)
b) 35% or above in Science, Mathematics & English (for PT-Primitive Tribe)
c) 80% or above in Science, Mathematics & English (for Unreserved and OBC)
