Indian Engineering Service Exam is a paper-pen based, four-part government service examination directed by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India.

Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination

i. Civil Engineering

ii. Mechanical Engineering

iii. Electrical Engineering

iv. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:-

Aspirants aged between 21 and 30 years.

Academic Qualification:-
- B.E./B.Tech or passed sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or
- Obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from such foreign university/college/institution recognized by the Government of India from time to time.
-Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
-Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
-Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.

Nationality:-
The aspirant must be any one of the following:
A citizen of India
A citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Exam Pattern
The written exam comprises of 2 sections. Section I consists of only objective type questions and section II comprises conventional papers. Both the papers cover entire syllabus of the relevant engineering disciplines. If you qualify the written examination, personality test of 200 marks is conducted.
