Re: Nuclear Powered Ships Indian Navy
As you asking for the Nuclear power Ship of the Indian Navy the information about the Nuclear Power ship is as follow : Nuclear power is particularly suitable for vessels which need to be at sea for long periods without refuelling, or for powerful submarine propulsion. Over 140 ships are powered by more than 180 small nuclear reactors and more than 12,000 reactor years of marine operation has been accumulated. Most are submarines, but they range from icebreakers to aircraft carriers. In future, constraints on fossil fuel use in transport may bring marine nuclear propulsion into more widespread use. So far, exaggerated fears about safety have caused political restriction on port access. Nuclear powered Ships of the Indian Navy are as follow : Chakra (Akula II) class INS Sindhuvijay INS Shankush (S45) Kiev class (Modified) INS Vikramaditya (R33) INS Kochi (D64) Shivalik class INS Satpura (F48) INS Sahyadri (F49) Talwar class INS Trishul (F43) INS Tabar (F44) INS Teg (F45) INS Tarkash (F50) INS Trikand (F51) Brahmaputra class INS Betwa (F39) INS Beas (F37) Godavari class |
