The Gazette warning of UGC regulations 2009 to Curb Menace of Ragging has been put on establishment site and has likewise been distributed in the "Hand Book of Information". Seniors are required to experience these regulations.

The Institute has taken a number of stringent measures to prevent ragging as per the directions of Honourable Supreme court and UGC regulations 2009. A few of these measures are as under:

(i) Anti Ragging Committee:

The Anti ragging committee is headed by Director of the institute, other committee members are Dean (P&D), Dean (Academic), Dean (SW), Professor in-Charge (SW & RC), Registrar, representatives of District Administration, representatives of media, representatives of NGOs, representatives of senior students, representatives of first year students and their parents. The committee is overall responsible for anti ragging measures in the Institute as per UGC regulations.

(ii) Anti ragging Squad:
The Anti Ragging squad will monitor and will have surprise checks at vulnerable places. It will also investigate any incident of ragging and will recommend the punishments to Anti Ragging committee for suitable action as per clause 9.1 of UGC regulations 2009. Anti Ragging squad is headed by Chief Warden (Boys Hostel). Other team members are Chief Warden (Girls Hostel), Deputy Chief Wardens (Boys), Deputy Chief Warden (Girls), Prof- in -charge (T&P), Prof- in -charge (SW & RC), and Professor in charge (Security). (iii) Flying squads: Nine number of flying squad teams, consisting of mainly wardens and mess managers, will have strict vigil and will conduct surprise checks in and around the Institute/campus during odd hours.

(iv) Teams of staff members:
Teams consisting of faculty members and teaching supporting staff have been put on anti ragging duty in first year hostels from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm on all working days and from 9.30 am to 10.00 pm on holidays to prevent any possible ragging incidents.

(v) Special flying squad:
The squad will check any possible ragging incidents at potential public places like; Parks, railway station, bus station, canteen etc.

(vi) Anti Ragging Display Boards:
46 key locations have been identified in the campus where anti ragging display boards have been installed for the information of the senior students. These boards mainly depict: (i) Banning of Ragging in the Institute (ii) Quantum and nature of punishments to defaulters (iii) Helpline numbers of institute officials.

(vii) Ragging Complaint Drop Boxes:
Institute has also installed Ragging Complaint Drop Boxes in all first Year Hostels in the dining halls. These will be opened and checked daily by the wardens of the hostels. First Year students may drop their complaint in the box or can report any ragging incident on Institute helpline numbers. The complaint must bear student’s name, contact number, signature, time, date and place of incident.
