NIFT Entrance Exam Criteria

Can you tell me in detail about the eligibility required for admission in Bachelors Programs and Masters Programs in National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)?

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts a common entrance examination for admission to B. Des, B.F Tech, M. Des, M. F Tech or M.F.M course.

Eligibility criteria differ according to the course selected for admission.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Bachelors Programs:

Maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 23 years.
The upper age limit of the candidates is relaxable by 5 years for those belonging to Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste/Differently Able Person (PHP)

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Masters Programs:

There is no upper age limit.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor in Design Programme (Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, Fashion Communication)

One must have passed 10+2 level examination from any Central/State Board of Examination such as CBSE or State Board New Delhi and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

Or

One must have passed General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at Advanced level/ International Baccalaureate

Or

One must have passed any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

Or

One must be a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics among the five subjects.

Or

One must hold 3-4 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education (with engineering background).

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Master of Design Programme
One must hold an undergraduate degree from any institute or university recognized by law in India or a Diploma in UG from NIFT/NID only.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Master of Fashion Management
One must hold an undergraduate degree from any institute or university recognized by law in India or an undergraduate diploma of minimum 3 years from NIFT/NID.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for Master of Fashion Technology
One must hold B.F. Tech degree from NIFT or B.E./B.Tech from any institute or university recognized by law of India.
