NHS University (NHSU) was a part of the United Kingdom's National Health Service. NHSU was started in the year of 2005. NHS University was originally proposed by the Labour Party in the lead up to the 2001 general election, NHS was start out of a long-held ideal that good healthcare should be available to all, regardless of wealth – a principle that remains at its core. At NHS University launch, its main aims were to improve the training of NHS staff by: Creating and improving opportunities for learning, Creating high quality learning environments, Leading research into future learning needs. Funding NHS comes directly from taxation and is granted to the Department of Health by Parliament. When the NHS was launched in 1948, NHS had a budget of £437 million.
