The National Board for Respiratory Care is a voluntary health certifying board which was created in 1960 to evaluate the professional competence of respiratory therapists. The National Board for Respiratory Care conduct CRTY exam. This is providing Certification changes from the Entry Level CRT Examination to the Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination (TMC). The Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination is designed to objectively measure essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required of entry-level respiratory therapists, as well as determine eligibility for the Clinical Simulation Examination. Admission Requirements Candidates shall be 18 years of age or older. Candidates shall satisfy one of the following educational requirements: Candidates shall be a graduate and have a minimum of an associate degree from a respiratory therapy education program: Supported or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and graduated.
