National Institute of Fashion Technology conducts the NIFT entrance exam to shortlist aspirants for admission in design programmes offered by it. NIFT has its headquarter in Delhi. Besides, the other campuses are situated in Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Kangra, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Patna, Srinagar, Kannur, Raebareli, Shillong and Kolkata.

The qualified candidates can get admission in Bachelor of Design, and Bachelor of Fashion Technology. The entrance exam includes three stages - Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and situation test. Candidates seeking admission in BF Tech course, they will have to appear in GAT exam only.

NIFT Eligibility criteria of B.Des

Age Criteria - Candidate should be 23 years as on 1st October, 2019. Candidates who belong to reserved categories will get five years of relaxation.


Students should have passed 10+2 exam from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

Students should have cleared Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
OR
Candidates should have obtained 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
OR
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate
