National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a group of fashion colleges in India. It was established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India[

The Institute is Affiliated to the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India

Ranking :

In the 2017 ranking of the best fashion schools in the world, National Institute of Fashion Technology was ranked 19th

About the Campus :

NIFT was set up at Delhi in 1986 and had only one programme of Fashion Design in its first year. The campus initially started functioning from a temporary two room set up in its formative years and shifted to a full-fledged campus in 1994.

The building designed by Dr. B.V. Doshi is based on the concept of a central step-well to conserve rainwater, a traditional Indian Baoli and is listed as one of the modern Iconic architecture of Delhi

44 classrooms and fully equipped labs

3D printers, laser cutting machine, shima seiki computerized knitting machine, ETON overhead material carrying system, digital printing machine, digital tablets and soft body dress forms

Resource Centre with over 15000 books and huge material collection including fabric swatches, fashion garments, traditional costumes & textiles and accessories

70 full time faculty members including 13 Professors

More than 20 faculty members who have completed their doctorates in the field of fashion

Fully air-conditioned, semi-furnished hostel for 200 occupancies for girl students.
