The Department of Zoology , Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda began its glorious existence in 1951

Departmental thrust areas for research include Development and Regeneration Endocrinology, Entomology, Fisheries and Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology, Ornithology, Avian Physiology, Biodiversity, Reproductive Physiology and Endocrinology, Toxicology and Neuro Biology.

The department imparts education for B. Sc. and M. Sc. Zoology under CBCS.
