Here I am giving you information about Maharashtra Public Service Commission Maharashtra State Services examination below :

Important Dates:
Starting Date for Applying Online: 17-12-2013.
Last Date for Applying Online: 05-01-2014 at 11:59 PM.
Last Date for the Payment of Fee in SBI: 06-01-2014.
Date of State Services Preliminary Exam: 02-02-2014 (Sunday).

Now dates for Maharashtra State Services examination is over next Maharashtra State Services examination notice will publish in December 2014 .

Educational Qualification:
You have to passed any undergraduate level degree course from a well recognized university .

Age Limit:
Candidates age must be below 19 to 33 years as on 01-04-2014. Relaxations will be extended as per the rules.

MPSC state service prelims examination syllabus
SYLLABUS
Paper I - (200 marks)
(1) Current events of state, national and international importance.
(2) History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement.
(3) Maharashtra, India and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of
Maharashtra, India and the World.
(4) Maharashtra and India - Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati
Raj,Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
(5) Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion,
Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
(6) General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not
require subject specialisation.
(7) General Science.
Paper II - (200 marks)
(1) Comprehension
(2) Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
(3) Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
(4) Decision - making and problem - solving.
(5) General mental ability.
(6) Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data
interpretation(Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level)
(7) Marathi and English Language Comprehension skills (Class X/XII level).

In response to your question here I am summarizing the details:
MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission which is formed by the Constitution of India. It selects peoples for civil service jobs in the State of Maharashtra
It is an exam conducted every year, by the Government of Maharashtra known as MPSC exam through which it selects eligible applicants for jobs under its various departments like Administration, Police, Forest and Engineering.
# The various details about this exam are as follow:
1.MPSC Sales Tax Inspector / Assistant (Preliminary Examination)
This exam is conducted for recruitment of sales tax inspector and assistant in Maharashtra sales tax department.
(a)Eligibility:-
Age Limit:- 19-33 years (relaxations as per Government rules).
(b)Qualification:-
• Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of Marathi is essential.
2.MPSC PSI Preliminary Examination
This exam is conducted for recruitment of Police Sub Inspectors for the state's police force.
(A) The Eligibility for this exam is as follow:-
Age Limit: - 19-28 years (relaxations as per government rules).
(b)Qualification:-
• You must have a Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• You should have an Knowledge of Marathi is essential.
3.Physical Standard:-
(a)For Male:-
Height: - 165 cms (minimum)
Chest:-
Unexpanded: - 79 cms
Expanded: - 84 cms

(b)For Female:-
Height: - 157 cms (minimum)

3.MPSC Clerk / Typist
This exam is conducted for recruitment of clerk and typists (English and Marathi) for various departments of the Government of Maharashtra.
(a).Eligibility:-
.Age Limit: - 18-33 years (relaxation as per govt rules.)
.Educational qualification: - Minimum SSC pass.
The typing speed required for this post are mentioned as:
• For Clerk / Typist (Marathi) - 30 wpm
• For Clerk / Typist (English) - 40 wpm.

# Along with the preliminary exam there is a main exam details of which are as follow:
4.Main Examinations:
I would like to tell you that as per the new and revised exam scheme, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission conducts the Main Exam through four papers of the General Studies and two compulsory papers of Marathi and English respectively.
The Compulsory Papers of Marathi and English Language is based on Descriptive Type questions and the other papers of general studies contains objective type questions.
