MPSC stands for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. It is a body which is created by the Constitution of India to select applicants for civil service jobs in the Indian state of Maharashtra according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation. The Head Office of the MPSC is situated at the Maharashtra State Capital Mumbai.

Eligibility Criteria for MPSC

Age
Candidate has to complete minimum 19 years of age as on or before1st April of the year in which candidate is going to appear for examination.

Educational Qualification:
Candidate who is in final year of degree course can apply and appear for the Preliminary Examination. However he should submit the proof of his degree qualification while applying for the Main Examination, if selected in Prelims.


The MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission ) conducts an examination similar to the UPSC for the recruitment of Class I and II officers like Dy. Coll., Dy.Sp., STO, Tahsildar, B.D.O. etc. The MPSC also conducts examination for the posts of PSI / STI and ASST.

Objective type two compulsory papers
Paper I : 200 marks
Paper II : 200 marks
0.25 negative marking

2. Main Exam -
Objective type paper
0.33 negative marking
English paper - 100 marks
Marathi paper - 100 marks
General studies paper I - 150 marks
General studies paper II - 150 marks
General studies paper III - 150 marks
General studies paper IV - 150 marks
Total : 800 marks

3. Interview - 100 marks

MPSC exam for the posts of PSI/ STI/ASST
Educational Qualification : Graduate
Age Limit : Open Category- 33yrs (For PSI - 28 yrs), Obc - 35 yrs
St/Nt//Sc-38 yrs
1. Prelims -
Objective type paper
General studies paper - 300 marks
0.25 negative marking

2. Main Examination will be separate for individual exams like STI, ASST and for PSI -
Objective type paper I. -
Languages - 200 Marks
English - 70 marks
Marathi - 130 marks
Objective type paper II -
General Studies and Departmental Knowledge Test - 200 marks
Total : 400 marks

3. Physical Test : Only for PSI post - 200 Marks

4. Interview - PSI - 75 Marks, STI - 50 Marks, ASST - 50 Marks

As you want to apply for MPSC Sales Tax Inspector exam so you want to get eligibility of this exam so her I am giving you same:

Eligibility:

Age Limit:
Minimum age is 19 years.
Maximum age is 33 years.

Qualification:
Candidate must have graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Candidate must have knowledge of Marathi is essential.

MPSC Exam Pattern

There will be two languages papers of 100 marks each and the structure of the papers will of descriptive type.

The remaining four papers will have multiple choice questions, 150 marks each.

For two incorrect answers, 1 mark will get deducted.
