M.A. Previous (Semester First)

There shall be two semesters in M.A. Previous. First Semester will consist of four papers
and second semester will consist of four papers andone viva-voce of 100 marks each

Paper I Political History of North India (6 th Century B.C. 6th Century A.D.)
M.M. 100
Detailed Study of the Political History and the Chronological order of the events is
expected. However, the main emphasis will be given to the original sources.

a. Haryanka Dynasty Bimbisar, Ajatshatru and Successors of Ajatashtrau.
b. Sisunaga Dynasty

3. Hiostory of Mauryas origin of Mauryas Chandra Gupta Maurya, Bindusar,
Ashok, Causes of the Decline of the Maurya
4. Sung and Kanva Dynasty
5. Achaemenian and Alexanders Invasions.
6. History of the Indo-Greek, Sakas, (Pahalavas and the Kushanas)
7. Political Condition of India during Pre-Gupta Period
8. Detailed study of Gupta Kings
9. Hoona Invasions and Impact ; decline of the Guptas empire
