Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is an Indian state-related public university. It was established on Gandhi Jayanti, 2 October 1983 in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India.

It has been approved by UGC, accredited (A) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India. It has around 300 affiliated colleges spread over five districts in central Kerala.
