Can you tell me if there is a negative marking in JAM (Joint admission test for M.Sc. programmes) for admission in MCA (Master in Computer Application) Program?

JAM (Joint admission test for M.Sc. programmes) is online mode exam for a total of seven papers including Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics.

The JAM has been held online for admission to various post graduate (PG) science programmes including integrated Ph. D, M. Sc., joint M. Sc.-Ph. D, M. Sc.- Ph. D dual degree, M.Sc.- M. Tech, M. Sc.-M.S (Research), Ph. D dual degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes offered at IISc Bangalore and other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), respectively.

The admission test is held in two sessions, each of three hours duration. The first session has test papers- Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematical Statistics (MS) and the second session has test papers of Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA) and Physics (PH).

IIT JAM Exam Pattern

Exam Mode:
The exam will be organized through online mode (Computer Based Test).

Duration:
The total exam duration will be three hours.

Language:
Question paper will be asked in English language only.

No. of Question:
There will be total 60 questions asked in the examination.

Sections:
The exam has been divided into three sections.

Total Marks:
The question paper will have 60 questions of 100 marks.

Negative Marking:
There is no negative marking for Section B & C.

Section No. of Question
Section-A 30 MCQs (Multiple Choice Question)
Section-B 10 MSQs (Multiple Select Question)
Section-C 20 NAT (Numerical Answer Type)
Total 60 Questions

IIT JAM Syllabus
The IIT JAM syllabus has been divided into three sections, i.e. Section A, B & C.
The syllabus will comprise of various topics such as BL (Biological Sciences), BT (Biotechnology), GC (Geology), MS (Mathematical Statistics), CY (Chemistry), PH (Physics) and MA (Mathematics).
Students can prepare from the above mentioned topics from the examination.
