Re: MBA Students Can choose Commerce in UGC-NET Exam

University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship ( JRF )

Sorry to inform you that MBA students can’t choose commerce as a subject in the UGC-NET Exam

As you have completed MBA degree so you can’t apply for Commerce in NET exam, if you have completed M.Com in commerce subject then you are applicable for choosing the commerce

You can only choose that subjects in NET as per the subjects in your PG only

Eligibility ---

-You should have secured minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR Should have equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc (50% for OBC)
-Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks

Yes, you can. The general rule is one should choose his own subject area, the one that he studied in his post graduation. But this is relaxed in favour of related/ allied disciplines.

Since you are a management graduate, you can apply for NET in three different subjects: Management, Commerce and Labour Welfare/ Industrial Relations.
