Directorate of Distance Education of Maulana Azad National Urdu University was established in 1998. The DDE operates on the premise of propagating Urdu and reaching the unreached.

DDE at present offers three Post-Graduate, three Under-Graduate, and eight PG Diploma/Diploma/Certificate programmes in the distance mode, apart from the B. Ed. programme.

All these programmes have been approved by DEC and the B. Ed. programme is recognized by the NCTE.

Admission Procedure

The admission is sought through the All India Entrance Test conducted by the university at its different campuses and centres.

The application forms are made available at all the centres of the University.

Application forms can also be downloaded from the official website of the University.

The selected candidates are called for admission through counselling strictly on the basis of ranking in the Entrance Test.

Annual Intake of Students:

There are five centres at Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Bangalore, Darbhanga and Pune with 100 intake capacity in each.

Course Fee:

Application cum prospectus including the entrance exam fee is Rs. 500/-.

Course fee for two-years including examination fee is Rs. 15,000/-

At present the University’s distance education support network has nine Regional Centers one each at New Delhi, Bangalore, Patna, Darbhanga, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhopal, Srinagar and Ranchi; six Sub-Regional Centres one each at Jammu, Mewat, Lucknow, Sambhal, Hyderabad and Amaravati and an Examination Centre is in Jeddah, (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
