Directorate of Distance of Maulana Azad National Urdu University was established in 1998.

DDE at present offers three Post-Graduate, Three Under-Graduate, and Eight PG Diploma/Diploma/Certificate programmes in the Distance Mode,

All these programmes have been approved by DEC and the B. Ed. programme is recognized by the NCTE.

The total Number of Students Registered in Distance Education is over 1,00,000 Spread over 169 Study Centers all over India.
