The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.

Important Dates :

Opening of online application portal : 10th July 2016
Last date for closing of online application : 16th August 2016
Last date for submitting online application : 23rd August 2016
Exam Date : 6th Nov 2016

Eligibility :

For Stream SX: Class 12 Students

Candidates must be enroled in Class 12 in science during the academic year 2016-17 and should be aspiring to join an undergraduate programme in Basic Sciences like Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) during the academic year 2017-18.

Class 10: They must have secured a minimum of 80% in aggregate in Mathematics and Science in Class 10 board exams (70% for SC/ST/PH)
Class 12: They must also secure a minimum of 60% in Maths & Science Subjects Class 12 (50% for SC/ST/PH)

For Stream SA- Class 11 Students
Candidates must be enroled in Class 11 in science during the academic year 2016-17 and should be aspiring to join an undergraduate programme in Basic Sciences (B.Sc. / B.S./ B.Stat./ B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./M.S.) during the academic year 2018-19.
They must have secured a minimum of 80% aggregate in Mathematics and Science in Class 10 board exams (70% for SC/ST/PH)

For Stream SB
Candidates must have enroled in the first year of study in basic sciences undergraduate studies in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./ B.S./ B.Stat./ B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./ M.S. during the academic year 2016–17.
They must have secured a minimum of 60% in Maths & Science Subjects in Class 12 board exams (50% for SC/ST/PH)
They must secure a minimum of 60% in the 1st year final examination of B.Sc./ B.S./ B.Math./ B.Stat./ Int. M.Sc./ M.S (50% for SC/ST/PH)
