Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) conducts the KAS Examination; here are the details of this examination:

Eligibility:
The applicant should have completed bachelor's degree from a recognised university in India with good academic record.

Application fees:
Open Merit/General Category Candidates: Rs. 800/-
SC, ST, RBA, LAC, Social Caste (SLC) and Physically Challenged (PHC) category candidates: Rs. 550/-
Female candidates belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line) category: No fee

Important dates:
Opening date for registration: May 12, 2014
Closing date for registration: June 12, 2014
Date of preliminary examination (In two Sessions): October 12, 2014
Date of main examination: March 1, 2015

Syllabus:

1. To be passed as medically fir for admission to the J&K Police (Gazetted) Service a candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties of his appointment.
