India Meteorological Department was established in 1875. It is the principal government agency in all matters relating to meteorology, seismology and allied subjects.

Project Scientist ‘C’ Job detail:

Qualifications :
Master’s Degree from a recognized university .

Master’s Degree should be in Meteorology or Oceanography or Atmospheric Science or Physics or Geophysics or Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or Applied Physics or Statistics or Computer Science or Electronics & Telecommunication .

Secure at least 60% marks at Post Graduation level.

Desirable:
Work experience in Meteorological data processing, Assimilation of conventional and satellite / radar data in Atmospheric General Circulation Models, Numerical Modeling of the Atmosphere and ocean, coupled ocean atmosphere modeling, handling Meteorological equipments such as Radar/ SODAR / LIDAR/ wind profilers, etc.

Experience:
Three years experience in relevant field.
Familiarity with UNIX, FORTRAN.

Pay Scale :
Rs.15600-39100
