IFS exam study material UPSC IFS Exam mainly consists of 3 parts Part A is a Preliminary Exam consists of 2 papers: Paper 1&2 Part B is a Mains Exam consists of General Engish, General Knowledge, Optional Subject. Part C is the Personality Test & Interview. Part-A UPSC Indian Forest Service Preliminary Exam Syllabus: UPSC Indian Forest Service syllabus for prelims exam mainly consists of 2 papers, Paper 1&2. The topics that are covered in these 2 papers are enclosed below. Paper-1: 1 Current Event of National and International importance. 2 History of India and Indian National Movement 3 Indian and world Geography 4 Indian polity and Governance 5 Economic and social Development 6 General Science Paper-2: 1 Comprehension 2 Interpersonal skills including communication skills 3 Logical Reasoning and analytical ability 4 Decision making and problem solving 5 General Mental Ability 6 English language comprehension skills Part-B UPSC IFS Mains Examination Syllabus: Paper Subject Marks Paper I General English 300 Paper II General Knowledge 300 Paper III Optional Subject 1 200 Paper IV Optional Subject 1 200 Paper V Optional Subject 2 200 Paper VI Optional Subject 2 200 General English and General Knowledge The standard level of papers in General English and General Knowledge are designed for a Science or Engineering graduate of an Indian University. The English paper would consist of an essay and passages to write summary. Other questions are designed to test general understanding of English and everyday use of words. . Optional Subjects The standard level and syllabus for optional subject papers is based on the Bachelors Degree (with Honours). There will be no practical examination in any of the subjects.
