Indian Economic Services exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission generally in the month of November

The number of vacancies to be filled on the result of the exam will be specified in the Notice issued by the Commission

Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PH Categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Govt. of India

Age should be above 21 years and below 30 years.

SC/ST candidates are allowed five years' relaxation in upper age limit, OBC candidates receive a three-year relaxation.

Candidate must have obtained a post graduate degree in Economics or Applied Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics by a recognised university.

Recruitment for the Indian Economic Service will be conducted in two parts.
Part I: Written examination for a maximum of 100 marks.

Part II: Viva voice/interview for candidates short listed on basis of written examination

Paper Pattern
Questions are to be answered in conventional format.
All question papers will be provided in English only and are to be answered in English language.
1. General English: 100 marks
2. General Studies: 100 marks
3. General Economics - I :200 marks
4. General Economics - II :200 marks
5. General Economics - III :200 marks
6. Indian Economics: 200 marks
