What are the entry requirements to join Indian Air Force as a Pilot ? Also provide the Salary structure .

Indian Air Force organizes Air Force Common Admission Test for candidates to recruit them to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Officer Branches.

Through Flying branch applicants can join Indian Air Force as a Pilot .

Flying branch :

The following are the three modes of entry for Graduates/ Engineers to join the Flying branch:-

CDSE (Combined Defence Services Examination) (For Men Only)

Men can enter through this mode of entry and will get a Permanent Commission.

Eligibility criteria:-

•Nationality – Indian
•Age - 19 to 23 years (at the time of commencement of course)
•Marital Status - Single
•Gender - Men only.

•Educational Qualifications:-

Applicants must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University / BE / B Tech (Four Year Course).

No Percentage Bar for CDSE entry.

NCC Special Entry (For Men Only) (Through NCC Air Squadrons / DG NCC)

Eligibility criteria:-

•Nationality - Indian
•Age –19 to 23 years (at the time of commencement of course)
•Marital Status - Single
•Gender - Men only.

•Educational Qualifications:-

Applicants must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University with 60% marks and have passed Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level

OR

Applicants must have done BE / B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised University with 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

SSC (Short Service Commission ) Entry( For Men And Women)

Eligibility criteria:

•Age - 19 to 23 years
•Nationality - Indian
•Marital Status – Single
•Gender - Men and Women.

•Educational Qualifications:-

Applicants must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University with 60% marks and have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level .

OR

Applicants must have done BE / B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised university with 60% marks .

Physical Standard:-

Height and Weight:-

Minimum height 162.5 cms with correlated weight

Leg Length: - Min 99 cms, Max 120 cms.

Thigh Legth: - Max 64 cms

Sitting Height: - Min 81.5 cms, Max 96 cms.

Pay Scale –

Indian Air Force Pilot will get a pay band of Rs.15,660/- to Rs.39,100/- per moth along with Grade pay, Dearness Allowance, Military Service Pay, Transport Allowance, Flying Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, Special Force Allowance etc.
