Re: How can one become a fighter pilot in Indian Air Force?
There are 2 ways to join Indian Air Force. One is after 12th through NDA and other is through CDS which is after graduation. Both the exams are conducted by UPSC. Applicants can give their preference for IAF, Indian Navy and Indian Army. IAF also conducts exam for recruitment- AFCAT which can be taken after graduation. Once you clear any of the above mentioned written exam you have to attend SSB, which is a 5-day rigorous testing procedure. Then those who get recommended for IAF attend PABT-pilot aptitude battery test. Only those who aspire for pilot, have to take this test. If you clear this test then you will be given training for 54-60 weeks. On successful completion of this training you will become fighter pilot in Indian Air Force. |

Regarding IAF pilot recruitment
Dear Sir/Madam, Anyone can tell me whether i'm eligible to become an IAF pilot.. I'm doing Chatered Accounting... But my 10+2 stream is Phy, mat, chem...I've no degree. But as far only B.sc/BA/B.E./B.TECH students with 10+2 in PCM are eligible after going so many tests? Can I take AFCAT or UPSC for induction into flying branch to become a pilot. Thanking You Sicerely, Muruga. |
