IITKGP Proxy

I am interested in networking field and want to know about the proxy servers of the IIT Kharagpur. Please provide me the lists of proxy servers available in the IIT Kharagpur? Also provide me the proxy server address of the IIT Kharagpur?

Internet connection inside IIT Kharagpur is provided through an HTTP Proxy server. A proxy server acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from internet. For addresses that are on the KGP LAN Network, using the proxy server is not required.

The HTTP Proxy is 172.16.2.30:8080

The proxy server can be bypassed for the address 10.0.0.0/8 . This CIDR address will bypass the proxy for all addresses on the KGP network.


IIT Kharagpur operates one of the largest academic network in the eastern region of India. Internet access is provided through both wired and wireless connections from academic areas, halls of residences, and the residential complex.

There is no direct access to the Internet. Internet access through http is allowed only through proxy server. Details of the proxy server for http are given below in the format
