Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement for admission in MSc-PhD Dual Degree Program offered by Department of Chemistry in IIT Kharagpur?

The Department of Chemistry in IIT Kharagpur, the brainchild of Sir J. C. Ghosh, a pioneering chemist and the first director of the institute, was started in 1951. On the occasion of the International year of Chemistry (2011) the department was recognized as one of the six best Chemistry departments of the nation by the Department of Science and Technology, India.


Eligibility

One admitted to a M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree program offered by Department of Chemistry
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur will be allowed to enrol for Ph.D. provided has certain minimum CGPA at the end of the fourth semester; otherwise will have to leave with a M.Sc. degree.

One may also on own, decide not to continue with the Ph.D. program and leave with a M.Sc. degree after the end of the fourth semester.


Admission

Admission will be through Nation wise JAM examination. A student admitted to the program will be allowed to enrol for Ph.D. provided has certain minimum CGPA at the end of 4th semester; otherwise he/she will have to leave with a M.Sc. degree.
