IIT Mumbai Summer Internship

Can you provide me the eligibility requirement for applying for Summer Internship in Computer Science Department, IITB or Indian Institute of Technology Bombay 2016?

The eight weeks Summer Internship in Computer Science Department, IITB or Indian Institute of Technology Bombay 2016 generally commences in second week of May and ends in 1st week of July.

Eligibility
• One graduating in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, or Electronics.
• Who will be completing 3rd year in April/May 2016. Students completing 2nd year, with exceptional academic performance and other achievements was also considered.
• One with experience in programming will be preferred.

Selection Process

Software Skills Quota

Around 50% candidates were selected based on the performance in a software contest.

The contest will test algorithms and programming skills.

Thus meritorious candidates got an entry even if have poor academics.

Additional bonus marks for candidates with proven efficiency in python.

The top four contestants who join the internship got cash award (and certificates) of Rs. 10,000, 5,000, 3,000 and 2,000.

Academic Skills Quota
Remaining 50% candidates were selected based on academic performance in the college/ university, and on the technical accomplishments.

One, who has demonstrated a flair for software and hardware design and development work, was preferred.

The reputation of the college and the performance of past students of that college in internship program were also being taken into account.
