Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay is one of the top Indian engineering colleges

The college has got 36th in Engineering in US News & World Report's World's Best Colleges and Universities rankings based on the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings for 2008 and got 9th rank by CNBC TV 18.

The institute has also got 49th rank in fields of Engineering and Technology, in QS World Rankings 2011.

IIT Bombay was ranked at no 36 in U.S. News & World Report's World's most excellent Colleges and Universities rankings based on the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings identified these to be the world's top universities in 2008. The only other university from India in the top fifty was IIT Delhi at no 42.
