IIT after Diploma In Mechanical Engineering

Is it possible to take admission in IIT after completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering?

After completion of diploma in Mechanical Engineering you can apply for the lateral entry, in which you are not required to do first year of B.Tech , you can take direct admission in the second year.

But sorry to say that Indian Institutes of Technology does not offers admission through lateral entry .

You have to apply in JEE Main Exam .

Eligibility
Applicants can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years.

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system.

3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
