Yes, you are eligible for job in Indian Air Force after completing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. But you need to clear NDA (National Defence Academy) Exam and is a entry for all three wings in the defence wing in India.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for applying in NDA is
10+2 from a Recognized university with minimum percentage of marks

Age must be between 16.5 to 19 years (at the time of commencement of the course, not at the time of applying)

Scheme of the NDA Examination

1. The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject are as follows

Subject Code Duration Max Marks

Mathematics 01 2.5 hours 300

General Ability 02 2.5 hours 600

2. The papers in all the subjects consist of objective type questions only.

Paper-1 Mathematics (Code No. 01) ( Maximum marks 300)

Paper-II General Ability Test (Code No. 02) (Maximum marks 600) comprise the following

Part A English( Maximum Marks - 200)

Part B General Knowledge (Maximum Marks - 400)

General Ability Test has six sections with the break-up of 400 marks as below:

Section for Physics 100 marks.
Section for Chemistry 60 marks.
Section for General Science 40 marks.
Section for History, Freedom Movement etc. 80 marks.
Section for Geography 80 marks.
Section for Current Events 40 marks.

Because after completing your DE you can apply for CDS or you can also apply for UES because UES demands engineering.

For applying for CDS you should have completed your graduation.

Your age should be between 19 - 21 years.

You should have completed your graduation with maths and physics.

You should have passed 12th Class (10+2) system of education or its equivalent with Physics and Maths for the air force and navy.

You should be unmarried.
