Re: IIM Calcutta Selection Criteria

The IIM Calcutta admission criteria for CAT or Common Admission Test 2016 are that there is no weightage to Graduation marks. Hence, irrespective of Graduation marks, candidates will stand a chance for admission to IIM Calcutta.

However, Gender Diversity has been given a weightage which will be a booster for female candidates.

Also, the institute will prefer the most candidates with work experience between 2.5 years to 3 years.

IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria for CAT 2015: MBA 2016-18 Batch

Step 1: The first level of short listing to be done based on CAT 2015 Score

Category Section – I Section – II Overall
OPEN > 80 > 80 > 80
NC-OBC > 75 > 75 > 75
SC > 65 > 65 > 65
ST > 60 > 60 > 60
DA > 65 > 65 > 65

Step 2: Calculation of Composite Score (CS) for every candidate who qualified in step 1.

Class X Marks (in %) Points Class XII Marks (in %) Points
>80 10 >80 10
≥ 75 and < 80 8 ≥ 75 and < 80 8
≥ 70 and < 75 6 ≥ 70 and < 75 6
≥ 65 and < 70 4 ≥ 65 and < 70 4
≥ 60 and < 65 2 ≥ 60 and < 65 2
< 60 0 < 60 0
