Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most popular entrance exam for MBA admissions. It is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes in India including the IIMs. IIM Ahmedabad Courses Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) Post Graduate Programme (PGP) Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM) Management for Executives (PGPX) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) Armed Forces Programme (AFP) One need to clear CAT for admission in any of the above mentioned courses in IIM or Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. CAT Eligibility One must hold a Bachelor Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories). One who is appearing for the final year of bachelor degree/equivalent qualification exam and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. CAT Exam Pattern CAT has two sections: Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning Each section has 50 objective type questions, making total of 100 questions in the paper. The duration of the test is 170 minutes (2 hours and 50 minutes). There are no sectional time limits. There is also negative marking in the paper.
