Indian Engineering Service (IES) eligibility criteria is very detailed and is chalked out by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), as it is the governing body for IES. Nationality: An Indian Citizen or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee or person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Vietnam, Ethiopia etc can apply Age Limit: Age should be between 21 years to 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxed in case of Government servants and has been increased to 35 years. Educational Requirements or Qualifications: An Engineering degree from a recognized University or College in India Passed the section A & B of the institutes or University examination Applicants have to pass a Graduate Membership exam of the institute of electronic and Telecommunication of India OR One must have obtained a degree/ diploma in Engineering from such foreign institute/ university and under such condition as may be recognizable in the eye of Government for the purpose from time to time OR Passed the Associate Membership exam part II and III/ Sections A and B of the Aeronautical society of India OR Pass the graduate Membership exam of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London. Physical Standards: Applicant must be physically and mentally fit as per the physical standards laid by UPSC. |
