The midpoint price difference between virgin and rPET pellets fell from 12 cents per lb on the US east coast in January last year to just 3.5 cents by December.

'That is a drop of 78% in the difference between the two products,' ICIS points out.


As an independent source of pricing information, the new US report from ICIS covers both the East and West Coast FOB spot prices and also includes Mexico price assessments and virgin PET prices.

Data is shown for bottle bales as well as recycled flakes and pellets, providing in-depth coverage of the various product grades.
