Indian Administrative Services is one of the most prestigious jobs in India. IAS salary structure consists of four Pay Scales: Junior Scale, Senior Scales, Super Time Scale, and Above Super Time Scale.

Junior Scale
Pay Band: Rs 15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs 5400

Senior Scales
(i) Senior Time Scale:
Pay Band: Rs 15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs 6600

(ii) Junior Administrative Grade
Pay Band: Rs 15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs 7600

(iii) Selection Grade
Pay Band: Rs 37400-67000 Grade Pay Rs 8700

Super Time Scale

The Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS. Here are the details of this exam:

Nationality:
A candidate must be a citizen of:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Required qualification:
The applicant should hold Degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Age Limits
Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August

Salary Scale :

Junior Scale:

Rs: 15,600 – 39,100.
In addition, he gets a Grade Pay of Rs 5400.
Senior Scale:
15,600-39,100 and a grade pay of Rs. 6600.

Junior Administrative Grade:
Payband : 15,600-39,100
Grade Pay: 7,600


Selection Grade:
Payband: 37,400-67,000
Gradepay: Rs 8,700


Super Time Scale
Payband: 37,400-67,000
Gradepay: Rs 8,700


Above Super timescale:
Payband: 37,400-67,000
Grade Pay: 12,000

The highest basic salary is Rs. 80,000 (fixed) for an IAS.

Only the central Cabinet Secretary is given the Basic salary of Rs. 90,000 (fixed).
