As you have asked about the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam, I am giving you some information about it, check below for the details
IAS Exam Eligibility:

Age Limit:
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from recognised university.

Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying
examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the
Preliminary Examination.

Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognised by the
Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees


Number of attempts for IAS exam : General Category : 6 attempts till 32 years of age.
Number of attempts for IAS exam : OBC : 9 attempts till 35 years of age.
Number of attempts for IAS exam : SC/ST : unlimited attempts till 37 years of age.

The competitive examination comprises of three successive stages :

Civil Services - Preliminary Examination - Objective Type (Qualifier)
Civil Services - Main Examination - Written Test
Interview / Personality Test

The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
The Main Examination will consist of 9 papers in total comprising of conventional essay type questions.
The interview will carry 275 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).
