Hey as on behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 27th December, 2015

Eligibility for NET exam

The candidates should have a Master's degree or its equivalent from a recognised university or institute. Their degree should be any of these disciplines- Humanities, languages, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science and Application, etc
The candidates should have a minimum score of 55 percent in their qualifying degree (50 percent for those under the reserved categories). Those candidates who have appeared for their final exams and are awaiting their results, and those who are yet to take their exams are also eligible to apply

The Ph.D degree holders who had completed their Master's level qualification before September 19, 1991 are eligible for a relaxation of five percent in their aggregate marks, i.e. from 55 percent to 50 percent

The candidates who have post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/ institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign University/institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master's degree of recognised Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi
