IAS Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

For the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), a candidate must be a citizen of India.
For other services, a candidate must be either:
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a subject of Bhutan, or


Age limitation:

Age limitations of the candidate should be liable in between 21 to 30 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.

Age relaxation will also be provided for the SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the government rules.

Number of attempts:

For General: 4 times
For OBC: 7 times
For SC/ST: Till 35 yrs of age


Qualification Required For IAS Entrance Test:

Candidates must hold Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline from the recognized University/Institution.
Applicants who are pursuing in the final year examination or waiting for their final year result they may apply for Civil Services Preliminary Examination. But entrants must have to produce final result for appear in Civil Services Main Examination.
