Govt Post Graduate College is situated in the locality of bhairoganj approximately 2.5 kms in the eastern direction of bus stand.

The college was earlier run as shikhar chand jain college in the indira gandhi dist. Hospital. In the year 1962 it was shifted in the palatial building of, then, normal school in the session 1988 - 89 the college was shifted to the newly constructed own building. All the science faculty departments are still existing in the old building.

The college has ten post graduate department in arts, commerce and science faculties.
