Government jobs after B.E Civil Engineering with 2nd Class
Can you tell me if I am eligible for Government jobs after passing B.E Civil engineering in 2nd class as I have a doubt about it?

No, you are not eligible for a Government job after passing B.E civil engineering in 2nd class as the minimum requirement for applying for a job is 60%. B.Tech Civil Engineers can appear in the UPSC exam which is carried out every year. B.Tech graduates can appear in the IAS, IPS as well as the IES civil service exam for getting jobs in the government sectors. The PSC also carries out exams as to select qualified engineers in to various state government departments like Public work department or PWD. One can get the post of a Assistant Engineers, Executive Engineers etc. Engineering professionals in the field of Civil Engineering are required in fields such as Gas and Oil plants, Power generation firms, Construction of pipelines and water mains etc. The Railway recruitment Board is another major recruiter of B.Tech Civil Engineers. Candidates can also try their luck in the defense sector. Eligibility 1. You must complete B.Tech course. 2. And secure 60 percent marks in it. 3. If there are any pending backlogs, clear them before applying. 4. You will also have to clear GATE exam before applying. 5. The age limit is 21 to 30 years to apply. 6. OBC get 3 years relaxation and SC/ST get 5 years. B.Tech graduates are eligible for jobs in railways. You have to attend RRB exams as part of this. Positions like Construction engineer, maintenance engineer, technician etc will be available in railways. If you have interest you can try for Civil services. But a good amount of preparation is important for this exam. Being a Civil engineer, you can try for jobs in PWD departments in specific state. You will get selection in this department, if you are able to pass in public service commission exam. Also bank jobs are suitable for engineering graduates. PO/Specialist officer designations are suitable for B.Tech graduates. In order to get selection for officer posts in banks, candidates should clear written examination and then attend a GD and personal interview as well. Educational Qualifications BE/BTECH pass in any stream OR Passed section A and Section B of Instution examinations of Institution of Engineers Or Graduate Membership Examination of Institute of electronics and Telecommunication Engineers Age limit 21 years to 30 You can apply for various departments such as 1. Forensic engineering department 2. Materials engineering department, 3. Geotechnical engineering department, 4. Water resources engineering department, 5. Earth quake engineering department 6.
