The Goa State Council for Science and Technology is known as Department of Science, Technology & Environment (DST&E) that was established in 1983.

The Department was founded as a Secretariat Administrative Department at Panaji.

The Department is headed by the Director who is also the ex-officio Joint Secretary to the Government.

Department is executed through various statutory and non-statutory agencies/authorities listed below:

Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB).
Goa State Council of Science & Technology (GSCS&T).
Goa Environment Protection Council (GEPC).
Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA).
Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB).
