Applicant who has opted for Junior Research Fellowship in NET and qualify the same are entitled to get Fellowship of UGC under several schemes, subject to their finding placement in Universities/ IITs/ Institutes. The offer is valid for 2 years from the date of issue of JRF Award Letter. If a candidate has already got admission in M Phil/ PhD, the date of commencement of Fellowship is from the date of announcement of NET result or date of joining, whichever is afterwards. Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) in IIMA The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIMA. FPM admits students who have a strong academic background and who have the interest to undertake original research. Fellowship and Expenses IIMA provides a fellowship that covers all academic expenses including tuition, computer, library, medical insurance, placement and alumni fees, and in addition includes a monthly allowance of Rs.18,000/- for 1st and 2nd years, Rs. 19,000/- after completing exam and Rs. 20,500/- after submitting the TAC approved thesis proposal. UGC Junior Research Fellowships for students of Indian nationality is determined in the course of the National Eligibility Test, popularly known as NET. National Educational Testing Bureau of the University Grants Commission is accountable for administering the NET. The National Eligibility Test sets the principles for the entry of lecturers in the teaching and research profession. The UGC JRF works with an purpose to widen an opportunity to students or scholars who have cracked NET to do additional studies and conduct research work to enable them acquire either an M. Phil or a PHD degree either in any of the social sciences, humanities, languages or social sciences. The NET is conducted in the subjects stated below: Humanities Social Sciences Forensic Science Environmental Sciences Computer Science Applications and Electronic Science Application procedure The procedure for application for Junior Research Fellowships of the University Grants Commission is as follows: Value of Scholarships the sum of financial help under the Junior Research Fellowship are: A periodical allowance of Rs. 8, 000 /-for the first 2 years and Rs. 9, 000 /-for the remaining 3 years, if applicable. There are 2 contingency allowances A and B under the Fellowship Scheme: Contingency A: Rs. 10, 000 annual for the first 2 years & Rs. 20, 500 /-for the next 3 years. Contingency B: Rs. 12, 000 annual, for the first 2 years & Rs. 25, 000 yearly, for the next 3 years in addition, there is also a annual departmental help allowance of Rs. 3, 000 /-per student or scholar to the university where the research work is being done. A monthly grant of Rs. 2000/- in case of disabled or visually impaired candidates. House rent stipend is given to the Junior Research Fellow. No special medical allowance is given. The fellows however get the usual medical facilities available in the university or institute where he or she will be working.
