Marine Engineering is a very high paying job. It has five promotional levels after you do a B.Tech degree in Marine Engineering. Its promotion ladder: Chief Engineer Second Engineer Third Engineer Fourth Engineer Fifth Engineer or Engineering Cadet The Salaries offered to Marine Engineers Salaries of the various Marine Engineering Ranks: Chief Engineer -Rs 5 lacs and above / 10000 USD and More Second Engineer - Rs 4 to 5lacs / 7500- 9500 USD Third Engineer - Rs 2.75- 3.5 lacs / 4000- 5900 USD Fourth Engineer - Rs 1.5- 2.25 lacs / 2000- 4000 USD Fifth Engineer or Engineering Cadet - Rs 35-75 thousand / 300 - 1200 USD Fee Structure The fee structure may vary from institute to institute. It can be from 80,000 to 200,000 per year means average you would cost 9 lakhs for total course. The fees can be as high as Rs. 220000 for the whole course in Indian Maritime University and is as low as Rs. 800000 in the HIMSAR. The amount of fees in T. S. Chanakya is Rs. 100000 per year There are many Government Funded and Self Financed Colleges which are providing the course as T. S. Chanakya, College of Engineering, HIMSAR (Haldia Institute of Maritime Studies and Research), IIT Powai (Mumbai), Indian Marine College, Hyderabad.
