Can you tell me about the fee structure of MBBS Colleges or Institutes in Punjab as I want to take admission in it?

From 2013 onwards, Punjab government has increased the fee for medical courses in the private and government colleges by 33%. The new fee structure will applicable to MBBS, BDS and BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) courses.

As per a notification now in the government quota (free seat on merit) for MBBS, students will have to pay Rs. 2 lakh per year instead of Rs 1.5 lakh; in the management quota, they will have to shell out Rs. 6 lakh annually instead of Rs. 4.5 lakh. In the non-resident Indian (NRI) quota, candidates will now pay $1 lakh (around Rs. 60 lakh) per year.

For BDS students, the fee has been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. In the management and NRI quotas, the fee will be Rs 2 lakh and $40,000 (about Rs 24 lakh), respectively.

The fee for the BHMS students has also been increased to Rs 80,000 in government as well as management quota.
