The mission of Evans School of Public Affairs is to improving the quality of public and nonprofit service. It was founded in 1962. it was Formerly known as the University of Washington (UW) Graduate School of Public Affairs. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from a foreign institution. A minimum GPA of 3.0 during the last 90 undergraduate credit hours of a quarterly schedule or 60 credit hours of a semester schedule. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores (except for Executive MPA applicants). Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy and Governance mission is to be committed to improving the quality of public and nonprofit service and educate leaders to meet societal challenges with compassion, vision, analytic rigor, and practicality. Approximately 35 to 40 Aspirants are selected each year for the Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) program. Selection is based on: • Potential for academic success • Range of professional experience • Desire for professional development Aspirants to the program are essential to have a bare minimum of 7-10 years of professional work experience. Aspirants must also hold at least a 4-year bachelor’s degree from an recognized college or university. Admitted Aspirants are mid career professionals from variety of industries and academic backgrounds. Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) Application Instructions Deadline For priority contemplation of acceptance in this competitive program, application materials must be postmarked or received online by May 1. After the precedence deadline, applications are accepted on a space existing basis through June 15. Step 1 Gather your required University of Washington (UW) Graduate School and Evans School application materials: • Application fee of $85 for completing the online application to the UW Graduate School and Evans School. • Resume which includes: o appropriate academic, professional, volunteer, or military experience o Academic and/or professional honors, prizes, or scholarships o management positions o Professional relations or memberships, if any • Statement of purpose describing in 750 words or less: o Yourself and the reason(s) for applying to this program. o The expectations of the Executive MPA program in furthering your career objectives. o The academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, community and/or volunteer work, and any other factors relevant to your interest in public policy and management. • Transcripts from each college or university you have attended. Unofficial copies of your transcripts may be uploaded with your online application • Three letters of reference to be submitted electronically by those writing the recommendations after you complete the UW Graduate School and Evans School online application. • English language proficiency test scores for international aspirants. Step 2 Please complete the UW Graduate School online application for the Evans School. During this process, one will be asked to identify which Evans School program you are applying to, and should choose the Public Affairs - Executive (M of Public Administration) option.
