Re: Engineering Admission after Scoring 95% in Intermediate
You have secured very good marks in Intermediate but Engineering Institutes takes admission on the basis of marks secured in Engineering Entrance Exams. The engineering entrance exam in Tamil Nadu is TNEA or Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission. TNEA Eligibility Criteria Passed class XII with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and obtained 50% (Gen), 45% (Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim), 40% (MBC and DNC) or 35-40% (SC/ST/SCA). Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee candidates can also apply, but must provide necessary documents in support of the same at the time of counseling. Candidates who have been staying in Tamil Nadu from 5 years due to parents’ employment in public or private sector OR who have completed the last five years of their education (Class VIII-XII) within the state are eligible. Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu but have completed the last 5 years of education from state other than Tamil Nadu can apply on submitting the Nativity Certificate. TNEA Reservation of Seats Open Competition – 31% Scheduled Caste – 15% Backward Class – 26.5% Most Backward Class and Denominated Communities – 20% Scheduled Tribes – 1% Backward Class Muslim – 3.5% Scheduled Caste (Aruynthathiyars) -3% TNEA Application Fees Online mode - Rs.500 (Rs.250 for SC/ST/SCA) Postal mode – Rs.700 (Rs 450 for SC/ST/SCA) |
